Joan began her career in real estate in September of 2002. During her first full year as a Realtor, she joined the prestigious ranks of veteran Realtors in the “Million Dollar Club” and was named the Tri-County Board of Realtors 2003 Rookie of the Year. When asked what led to her early success in real estate, Joan related it to one specific reason. “I believe it is because I listen to my customers.”
According to Joan, patience and listening go hand in hand. Some clients need to close a deal and move within a given timeframe; so understanding her client’s motivations for buying and selling a home is key to being able to provide the services they need. On the other hand, Joan works with clients daily who are not pressed to take immediate action—they know exactly what they want and will not settle for anything less than their “perfect home”. Joan listens carefully to their desires, keeps records of the qualities and features that appeal to them, and if that perfect property presents itself, she contacts them as soon as she finds it.
Joan is establishing a reputation for herself as “the Realtor who listens.” She truly enjoys helping people find the home or land that they are looking for and she wants each customer to feel like she has earned the commission she is paid as part of each sale.
Working for her clients, whether buying or selling real estate, is most effective when Joan “listens without limitations.”
